We came here for a Christmas meal and unfortunately we werent very impressed. For example...the vegetarian Christmas meal was a potato dish and vegetables; not very exotic. There was a long gap between courses with some guests waiting an hour for their mains, and one table left mid-dish. Credit given that one chef quit a week beforehand, but still, its not difficult to hire in additional agency staff or cook in larger batches. For the price, I wouldnt say it was worth it.Update one: Downgraded from one star from two after the desert still hadnt arrived, two hours after sitting down.Second update: Desert fruit was rancid and inedible. Waitress apologised and offered a replacement, but I cant say the other deserts looked appealing either.
Visited the Star for the first time. Staff were friendly. Tables nicely spaced. Had the burger. Was presented well and of fair quality.
The Star Inn was bought in January 2018 by a young couple who are determined to make it a success and deserve your support. We decided to finish our short break there at the end of September and have a meal. The menu at the moment is a bit limited but the food was very good and we would definitely go back there again. In addition on the Friday night we were there they had a guitarist playing 60 & 70's music that made our night He could play not just strum.Fully recommend you call in
Great Bacon and Brie sandwiches, freshly cooked. We stopped here halfway into a round the island bike ride, kindly refilled our water bottles.
comfortable and friendly, it has a really authentic feel, with great dining facilities and very tasty food.There seems to be an endless stream of entertainment and fun for the patrons & I thoroughly recommend this little gem of a place for a visit. Easy parking and a beer garden make it great venue for a summer evening chill and relax.
